Mason McKenzie writes sympathetic crime stories and realistic fantasy. His crime fiction explores the psyche of savage criminals. Mildred’s Monster is the coming of age story of a sociopathic serial killer raised in the mountains of North Georgia. Mason’s fantasy writing explores alternate histories.
His current novel project, The Last Centaur, explores a world in which centaurs helped Alexander the Great amass his empire. Following the famous Macedonian’s success, the centaur warriors so key to his success are a threat to his dominance and must be eliminated.
When he is not teaching, Mason writes novels, screenplays, and short stories.
He lives in Port Orange, where he frequents local tennis courts and coffee shops.
